Sadyr Japarov, the president of Kyrgyzstan, signed a decree announcing a trial regime in the field of driver training. During this period, the licenses of all private driving schools will be temporarily frozen, and only state educational institutions will have the right to provide training.

This trial regime will be in effect from January 30 to August 30, 2026.

This decision has been made to analyze the effectiveness of the existing licensing norms and to develop new approaches to regulating educational activities in this area.

During the trial period, all previously issued licenses to private driving schools engaged in driver training and retraining will be suspended. Educational programs during this period will be implemented exclusively by state driving schools.

Upon completion of the trial period, the presidential administration will be tasked with preparing drafts of the necessary regulatory acts and taking other measures arising from the decree.

Monitoring the implementation of the decree will be carried out by the administration for monitoring the execution of decisions of the president and the cabinet of ministers.

The decree will come into effect on January 30, 2026.
