The city authorities of Kyrgyzstan's capital, Bishkek, conducted an inspection of several water supply facilities.

According to information provided by the press service of the mayor's office, the first stop was the water intake "Orto-Alysh." Work continues on cleaning the recharge lakes, of which 4 out of 11 have already been brought into order. Eight excavators and five dump trucks are involved in the process. This facility is responsible for supplying 8,600 cubic meters of water, which meets the needs of approximately 40% of the city's population.

During the inspection, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev emphasized the need for coordination with the municipal enterprise "Bishkek Teploelektrocentral" to start repair work earlier than planned. This should ensure stable water supply for residents during the summer period.

Additionally, the municipal enterprise "Bishkek Vodokanal" was instructed to notify agricultural facilities about the transition to drip irrigation. If this directive is ignored, appropriate measures will be taken.

The next facility inspected was the water intake structure "HBO." After the reconstruction is completed, there are 5 wells operating here: 3 repaired and 2 new, each capable of producing 160 cubic meters of water per hour. Four second-lift pump units have also been installed. This water intake supplies drinking water to residents of the Kok-Zhar area and neighboring quarters, bounded by the streets Ankara, Dostoevsky, L. Tolstoy, and April 7.

The mayor's office noted that the completion of work on this facility was planned for February 2026; however, due to accelerated progress, it will be finished by December 2025.
