The French corporation Danone has decided to recall several batches of baby food under the Aptamil brand in Germany due to the presence of a toxic substance. This information has appeared in foreign news.

At least three batches produced between May and August 2025 are included in the recall. The Federal Office of Germany, responsible for consumer protection and food safety, has confirmed that the products will be withdrawn from sale.

The reason for the recall was the discovery of cereulide—a toxin that can cause vomiting and nausea. It was found in one of the ingredients sourced from China. According to media reports, Danone's stock price has fallen by nearly 13 percent over the past two weeks.

Earlier this January, the company Nestle also reported a voluntary recall of its products, followed by Lactalis. Currently, an investigation is underway in France to determine whether the deaths of two infants may be linked to the consumption of the recalled food, but no direct connection has been established at this time.

It is important to note that Danone products, including Aptamil baby food, are available in Kyrgyzstan—both in specialized stores and through online platforms.
