Entrepreneurs working at the Osh market have expressed their concern regarding new rumors about the possible sale of spaces in a new shopping complex that is set to replace the existing market. A video message from the traders, in which they voice their worries, is actively circulating on social media.

According to the traders, local authorities had previously promised that the market relocation would take place, and all current entrepreneurs would receive free spaces in the new complex under improved conditions.

However, over the past two weeks, reports have emerged online that spaces in the new shopping center will be sold.

The traders emphasize: “We have been working here for many years and paying all the necessary taxes and fees. Now, according to rumors, we are being told that spaces in the new complex will be sold. We all have loans and daily expenses, and it will be impossible to buy new trading spots. We have reached out to the administration, but no information has been provided to us. We urgently request the authorities to give an official response.”

Entrepreneurs are appealing to the Bishkek city hall to clarify what plans exist for the market relocation, to confirm or deny the information about the sale of trading spaces, and to inform about guarantees for current traders.

So far, there have been no comments from the city authorities.
