At a meeting of the committee on science, education, and youth policy, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Bolo Saginayev proposed the idea of creating student dormitories where girls and boys would live separately.

He provided statistics: in Kyrgyzstan, 45,000 marriages were registered in 2025, but 13,000 of them ended in divorce.

“This means that every third couple breaks up. This is a serious problem. In this regard, I propose to consider the construction of dormitories where girls and boys will live separately. Currently, the rent for housing in Bishkek is 40,000-50,000 soms, which is an unbearable amount for students. Such dormitories could serve as social housing and help prevent negative consequences regarding marriage,” the deputy noted.

He voiced his position to the Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Marat Tagaev during a discussion on issues related to supporting youth policy in the country.
