The film "Kurak" from Kyrgyzstan became a laureate of the 17th International Film Festival, which is taking place in Bangalore from January 29 to February 6.
This festival, organized by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy with the support of the Government of Karnataka, is one of the most significant and rapidly developing film forums in India. This year, the program features over 200 films from 60 countries, with about 400 screenings across 13 screens.
"Kurak" stood out as the only film from Central Asia that entered the main competition section, which consists of 15 feature films.
The director and producer of this film is Erke Jumakmatova. The film is dedicated to the fates of women who have experienced violence.
