The personal exhibition of the Franco-Kyrgyz artist Zlata Beord, titled "To Be... / To Be," will open on February 13 at 15:00 at the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev.

At the heart of the exhibition lies an exploration of the influence of social and cultural norms on personal perception. The choice of the opening date, Friday, February 13, emphasizes the conditionality of these norms and their role in society.

The artist analyzes moments of transition and reassembly, when social, gender, and family frameworks begin to diverge from an individual's internal feelings.

The exhibition presents a journey in which painting serves as a means of observing processes of change — from the rejection of some identities to the acceptance of others and the movement towards a state where the value shifts from "being someone" to simple existence — "to be." One of the central concepts of the exhibition is mutation as a metaphor for the state of "between," when a person has not yet found their new "self," but is already beginning to leave their old form. This is a constant process in which wholeness does not necessarily mean stability, and uncertainty becomes a part of everyday life.

The exhibition includes 13 zones-states, and viewers are invited to walk this path together with the artist, to reflect on their own experiences or simply to remain within them, without striving to draw conclusions.
