At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Minister of Health Kanibek Dosmambetov raised the issue of the possibility of providing hemodialysis services by state institutions.

In response to deputies' inquiries about the shortage of hemodialysis centers in various regions of the country, the head of the department pointed out that currently this assistance is provided by private clinics.

“Private institutions cover 90 percent of those in need. We operate on an outsourcing model, with 6,500 soms allocated for each procedure. In my opinion, it is necessary to return hemodialysis to state structures, as patients express dissatisfaction with the quality of services and the condition of equipment in some private clinics. Every year, the state spends about 4 billion soms on hemodialysis,” the minister noted.

He added that the possibility of creating hemodialysis centers in areas where they are currently absent is being considered, if the state takes on this function.

It is worth noting that in 2017, the Ministry of Health began reducing hemodialysis departments in state hospitals and launched a project based on public-private partnership, under which hemodialysis services became available in private medical institutions.
