The authorities of Fujieda, a city located at the foot of the famous Mount Fuji, announced the decision to cancel this year's traditional event. The reason was the inappropriate behavior of a large number of visitors, which created difficulties for local residents.
During the festival, there were serious traffic jams, and there was also a problem with garbage left by tourists. Some residents expressed dissatisfaction that vacationers were entering their properties and using them as restrooms.
Fujieda attracts many tourists due to its picturesque views of Fuji and the blooming cherry blossoms, which create a beautiful backdrop for photographs.
“We decided not to hold the festival, which has been organized for the past ten years, to protect the rights and living conditions of our citizens,” commented the mayor of the city.
