At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development, which took place on February 9, deputy Aisara Abdibaeva raised the question of how capable Kyrgyzstan is of providing itself with milk and dairy products. In response to her question, the First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, confirmed that the country does indeed provide itself with milk, but at the same time, part of the production is exported to Kazakhstan.

In response to this statement, Abdibaeva emphasized: "Our natural milk is bought, and then it returns to us pasteurized at a price of 110 soms. The same approach is observed with Russia. This requires attention."

The Deputy Minister explained that Kazakhstan prefers to purchase finished products rather than raw materials, and pasteurization is necessary to prevent milk spoilage.

The deputy expressed dissatisfaction: "In our country, there is no milk, only powder. Our people consume powdered milk. It is important to create a commission to address this problem. If farmers opened a store in Bishkek, the demand would be high. We, city dwellers, do not even realize what we are drinking. At the same time, our environmentally friendly milk is being exported," she noted.
