In his post on X, Musk clarified: "We have redirected our efforts towards building a self-sustaining city on the Moon, as this is achievable in less than 10 years, unlike Mars, which will take more than 20 years."
He also added that flights to Mars occur only once every 26 months, and the travel time is about six months. In contrast, trips to the Moon are possible every 10 days, with a flight time of just two days. Nevertheless, Musk emphasized that SpaceX also plans to start building a city on Mars, aiming to begin this work in five to seven years.
