Military bloggers express concern over the consequences of the blockade
According to reports from Russian media and Telegram channels, a decision has been made in Russia to completely block the WhatsApp application and the YouTube platform. At the same time, the Telegram messenger has faced partial restrictions.
The websites of WhatsApp and YouTube have been removed from the DNS servers of Roskomnadzor, making access to them impossible without using a VPN.
Although Telegram is only partially blocked, users have already begun to complain about the slowdown of the application. In particular, military bloggers have expressed alarm, believing that the restrictions on Telegram could negatively impact the informational support for Russian troops operating in Ukraine.
Roskomnadzor justified the blockade of services by citing violations of Russian legislation and court decisions. There is also an opinion that this step is related to the emergence of the MAX messenger, which users are reluctant to switch to due to concerns about potential tracking of their actions and devices.
