The Ministry of Education has previously approved a new curriculum that includes a holiday schedule. According to this schedule, instead of the standard week of rest in March, students will only be able to take a break on March 6 (Friday). After a prolonged and intense third quarter, students will have just three days off, including the weekend.
At the same time, in May, they will have a break from May 1 to May 11, and the school year will end two weeks later.
The ministry explained this decision by referencing the new Labor Code, which provides Kyrgyz citizens with long weekends in January and May.
Experts emphasize that this approach to distributing holidays may negatively affect the psycho-emotional state of children.
