On the agenda, a number of issues were considered, including a draft amendment to the Code on Non-Tax Revenues concerning the increase of fees for alternative service.
Tashiev raised a question about the necessity of increasing these fees. In response, a representative of the Ministry of Defense pointed out that the rates had not been revised since 2017, and inflation had significantly affected the situation.
“The rates were set in 2017 when the average salary was 14,000 soms, and now it has increased to 37,000 soms. Additionally, expenses for uniforms, food, and other needs are not covered by the current rates,” he explained.
Furthermore, Tashiev noted that the essence of alternative service is lost if a full service term of 12 months is required for work in law enforcement agencies. To this, the Ministry of Defense representative replied that such service is intended for people who, for family or medical reasons, cannot serve the full term.
Earlier, there were rumors that Shairbek Tashiev, the younger brother of Kamchybek Tashiev, had been detained; however, this information was denied at the level of the Jogorku Kenesh. It was also reported that he was outside of Kyrgyzstan.
