The agreement will simplify the process of returning citizens who are illegally present in another country.
The draft law concerning the ratification of the readmission agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus, signed on September 29, 2025, in Minsk, is currently being discussed in the Jogorku Kenesh.
This document will ensure a simplified process for the return of citizens who are in another country without permission, as well as help organize the transit of those who are subject to expulsion, in accordance with international standards.
Moreover, the agreement will create conditions for more active cooperation between the responsible authorities of the two countries in the fight against illegal migration.
The ratification of this agreement is part of the "roadmap" for Kyrgyzstan's integration into the Single Economic Space, which includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia, and will also expand the framework of international readmission agreements previously concluded with Russia, Kazakhstan, and Switzerland.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there are currently 654 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Belarus.
