The Ministry of Energy and Digitalization of Kyrgyzstan has announced the installation of 390,000 "smart" meters for the population in 2026 as part of the electricity supply system reform being implemented by the National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan JSC.

This project is being carried out with the support of the World Bank with the aim of modernizing the country's energy infrastructure.

The distribution of "smart" meters by regions is as follows:

The goal of digitalization is to increase the transparency of electricity accounting, reduce technical and commercial losses, as well as improve the quality of electricity supply and develop digital infrastructure in the energy sector.

The installation of "smart" meters will allow for real-time tracking of electricity consumption, quick identification of technical malfunctions, prevention of illegal connections, and provision of accurate data for calculations.

Additionally, the new system will create opportunities for more efficient energy consumption management, helping users to rationally utilize available energy resources.
