Information about this appeared on the website of the Ministry of Energy of Russia, accompanied by a photograph from the event held in Moscow.
Also present at this meeting were Daniyar Amangeldiev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Talaybek Ibraev, and representatives of the company PJSC "RusHydro." The main topic of discussion was the construction of hydropower plants on the territory of Kyrgyzstan and the development of the country's fuel and energy complex as a whole.
Shirshov's appearance at these negotiations has not received official comments from the Ministry of Energy and the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
To briefly clarify, Alexey Shirshov is a close friend and confidant of Maxim Bakiyev, the son of the former president of Kyrgyzstan. He began his career in the energy sector under President Askar Akayev and earned a reputation as a "gray cardinal," as well as being accused of involvement in corrupt schemes in this area.
After the April revolution of 2010, Shirshov left Kyrgyzstan, and a criminal case was initiated against him. Despite this, he has repeatedly returned to Bishkek, where he was detained by the State National Security Committee, but after cooperating with the investigation, he was released.
