As a result of strong winds and a large number of visitors, the cable car in the Ala-Archa Nature Park was temporarily stopped for 30 minutes on the opening day. This occurred around 14:30 and caused confusion among the guests.

Representatives of the cable car explained that despite the unfavorable weather conditions, a decision was made to operate the lift at minimum speed to meet the growing demand. "People were in line, and we warned them about the wind, including signals. Nevertheless, the number of complaints continued to increase. We operated the lift at the minimum allowable speed of 3.5 km/h," the park administration reported.

When the wind intensified, the safety system was triggered automatically, and the cable car operation was halted.

An engineer from the Doppelmayr company, responsible for the construction of the cable car, clarified that in such weather conditions, the warning and speed limitation system is activated.

"After the stop, we checked the sensors, and then carefully lowered the people at a limited speed. This is standard procedure. There were no technical malfunctions," the engineer added.

Park staff informed visitors about the situation via loudspeakers and reminded them of the necessary safety measures. "Complaints mainly came from those who were in line. Guests in the cabins reacted calmly and with understanding," the park noted.

After the wind subsided, the operation of the cable car resumed as usual. The park also announced that warning signs would be installed inside the cabins and in the waiting area, as well as signs with safety instructions and information about situations when the cable car operation may be suspended.
