The streaming platform Netflix has issued a statement that it does not intend to raise its bid to acquire Warner Bros in order to surpass Paramount Skydance's offer of $31 per share, according to BBC News.

Warner Bros has a rich archive of films created over nearly a century, as well as the renowned streaming service HBO.

As part of a potential deal with Netflix, which is unlikely to happen, it was planned that the streaming giant would divest its broadcast channels, including the news network CNN.

The conglomerate Paramount Skydance is owned by the Ellison family, which has close ties to Donald Trump.
