The Bishkek City Hall emphasizes that Ramadan should not become a basis for begging.

The city authorities have decided to tighten control over teenagers in public places during the evening hours. This decision came as a result of the increased number of cases where minors remain on the streets and in entertainment venues without adult supervision during Ramadan, many of whom ask for money, including through QR codes.

Vice Mayor Victoria Mozgacheva noted at the meeting: “We value our traditions and cultural heritage; however, it is unacceptable for children to be on the streets at night without adult supervision. Food establishments that allow children to engage in such activities will face fines.”

The district state administrations have been instructed to organize joint raids involving juvenile affairs inspections and patrol police.

We remind you that Ramadan begins after those fasting complete their fast and perform the last evening prayer.
