From February 23 to March 1, Kyrgyzstan recorded 7,711 cases of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza. This was reported on the website 24.kg citing data from the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance.

Experts noted that compared to the previous week, the incidence rate decreased by 15.4 percent.

A significant portion of all cases—72.2 percent, or 5.6 thousand cases—are children under 14 years old. Hospitalization was required for 9.4 percent of the sick, which amounts to 726 cases.
Epidemiological surveillance for severe respiratory infections and influenza-like illnesses continues in Bishkek, Osh, and Tokmok.

Medical professionals strongly recommend that the population adhere to preventive measures, avoid crowded places, and refrain from self-medication, and seek medical attention at local clinics if symptoms arise.
