Video surveillance will become a tool in the fight against crime
According to Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Oktobur Urmambetov, there has been an 11 percent increase in youth crime in 2025. This statement was made at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on science and youth affairs.
Last year, 1,814 crimes committed by minors were recorded, while in 2024, this number was 1,640.
As a measure to counter this increase, there are plans to expand the "Safe City" and "Safe Country" video surveillance systems, aiming to increase the number of cameras to 20,000.
