The Cabinet provided clarifications regarding rumors about a lawsuit
An explanation appeared on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers regarding an article in the Financial Times, which mentioned the possibility of Bishkek filing a lawsuit against the European Union in the event of sanctions being imposed.
The Cabinet clarified that during an interview with the First Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev, only a hypothetical scenario was discussed. At the same time, the position of the Kyrgyz Republic remains unchanged — the country does not plan and does not intend to initiate legal proceedings against the European Union.
The government noted that the republic acts in full compliance with current legislation, international obligations, and norms of international law. Issues related to export control and compliance with sanctions regimes are resolved through dialogue and coordination with international partners.
Cooperation with EU representatives is aimed at ensuring transparency of procedures, information exchange, and improving regulatory mechanisms. The government emphasized that judicial and confrontational measures are not being considered.
The Cabinet of Ministers confirmed its commitment to constructive partnership with the European Union and its intention to resolve emerging issues exclusively within the framework of legal and diplomatic approaches.
