A petition has appeared on the platform change.org aimed at restoring access to the Dolon Omurzakov Stadium for the residents of Bishkek.

The authors of the petition emphasize that this sports facility is public, built and renovated using taxpayers' money.

“We, the citizens of Bishkek, express serious concern regarding the closure of the stadium to the city's residents. This restriction affects our right to access sports infrastructure, making it difficult to engage in sports, running, and health improvement, as well as raising children in sports areas. The stadium should be accessible to everyone, as its funding came from the state budget. The ban on access to the stadium may negatively impact the health and well-being of citizens,” the text of the petition states.

The residents are urging the authorities to ensure open access to the stadium or, at the very least, establish a regular visiting schedule that meets the interests of all residents.

The authors of the appeal believe that maintaining health and physical activity during the pandemic and stress is especially important. The stadium could become a place where people can strengthen their health, engage in sports, and spend time outdoors.

They hope that they will be granted access for training from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
