Parents of students at the boarding school for blind and visually impaired children, located at: Bishkek, Kulatov Street, 37, oppose the idea of relocating the educational institution to areas such as Chon-Aryk or Tash-Dobo. In this regard, they have created a petition on the change.org platform.
In their appeal, they expressed confusion regarding this decision, emphasizing that it could negatively impact their children's future. According to the parents, moving the school to a remote area will significantly complicate access for the children. The students have already adapted to the current location, teachers, and curriculum, and the need to travel long distances daily will pose a serious challenge for them, increasing transportation costs and the risk of being late for classes.

Additionally, the authors of the petition noted that this decision will have a severe impact on families where parents are also blind. They will find it difficult to cope with the long trips to the new educational institution. Teachers, in turn, will face challenges in organizing work in the new conditions.
“The school at Kulatov Street, 37 not only provides education but also creates a comfortable and familiar atmosphere for our children. This institution offers the necessary support and attention required by blind and visually impaired children. Educating these children requires a special approach, and the new location may not meet all the necessary conditions,” the parents emphasize.
They urge the government to reconsider this decision and keep the school in its current location, suggesting instead to improve and expand the existing building.
Previously, there were reports about plans to build a new school for blind children outside the city that would meet modern international standards.
