In Kyrgyzstan, fines totaling 18 million soms have been imposed in 2025 for violations in the field of environmental protection. This was reported by Azat Sagynov, Deputy Director of the Environmental and Technical Supervision Service under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan, in an interview on "Birinchi Radio."

Sagynov noted that over 300 raids have been conducted as part of monitoring compliance with legislation on the protection of flora and fauna, both during and outside the hunting season.

Regarding the protection of plant life, more than 260 violations have been recorded, resulting in over 6 million soms in fines, of which nearly 90% have already been collected.

As for wildlife, over 1,000 protocols have been drawn up for an amount of nearly 12 million soms, of which about 90% have also been collected.

“In 2025, we particularly focused on eliminating synthetic nets in Lake Son-Kul and Lake Issyk-Kul, as well as in reservoirs. Unfortunately, such nets are even found in riverbeds,” added Sagynov.

He also reminded that on May 28, 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted Resolution No. 270, which introduces a temporary moratorium on the use of certain types of plants until January 1, 2027.
