The Speaker of the Parliament called on bloggers and journalists not to spread rumors about the deputies
At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Speaker Marlen Mamataliev announced information about the salary of deputies, which amounts to 58,432 soms, as well as a fund of 80,000 soms allocated for additional expenses.
According to the speaker, in an interview dedicated to issues of digitalization, he was asked about the salary of deputies, and his answer was misinterpreted by the public. This prompted his desire to clarify the situation.
"The basic salary of deputies is 58,432 soms, and the additional 80,000 soms is allocated to cover expenses related to the maintenance of the official vehicle, fuel, driver’s wages, and handling citizens' appeals. We also frequently travel to the regions, and just the round-trip flight can cost around 10,000 soms. Overall, these funds are directed towards work-related needs," Mamataliev noted.
The speaker added that sometimes he has to supplement the allocated 80,000 soms with his own funds.
Furthermore, he urged bloggers and journalists to refrain from spreading rumors about possible changes in the composition of the deputies.
