“On Fuchik Street towards Chuy Avenue, there is a huge pothole. Cars are forced to move on one side of the road, which makes them encroach on the oncoming lane when they encounter a vehicle coming from the opposite direction. This is extremely dangerous. It would be good to install a warning sign,” expressed the video author’s dissatisfaction in a post on Threads.
After the video became popular, the press service of the Bishkek City Hall reported that, according to information from the Leninsky District Akimat, on January 16 of this year, MTU employees noticed “individual sections with sunken asphalt on Fuchik Street.”
“In connection with this problem, the municipal territorial administration invited specialists from the Leninsky District Municipal Administration and representatives of the contractor who was engaged in road works,” the official statement said. “Necessary acts were drawn up on-site. The contractor was instructed to restore the damaged sections.”
“Restoration work will be carried out under favorable weather conditions.”Additional complaints and appeals from citizens can be found at the Call center Kaktus.media via this link.
