He noted that rising prices will negatively affect low-income families.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev reported a significant increase in the cost of the National Testing (ORT), which has jumped from 200 to 470 soms per subject.
In his opinion, such a price hike will have a negative impact on families in difficult financial situations.
"Not only does the test itself require payment — many parents are also forced to spend money on preparatory courses for their children. These expenses are significantly increasing," he added.
The deputy emphasized that this test creates stress for graduates and requires substantial financial outlay.
Moreover, Bekeshev pointed out that in several countries, graduation tests are funded from the state budget, and parents do not have to pay for them.
In his view, the initial payment system was justified when the ORT was introduced, but now it is time for reform.
"The country's budget has grown, and we have a surplus. Why shouldn't the government allocate funds for this purpose? Let's start this year, allocate 400 million or another amount. Let's make the ORT free. This is necessary, as the state is responsible for preparing its graduates," he concluded.
