Deputies noted that exporters do not know where to turn when problems arise
Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova raised the issue of the difficulties faced by Kyrgyz exporters at the border with Kazakhstan during a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh.
As an example, she cited cases involving carriers of seedlings.
According to her, upon entering the territory of Kazakhstan, these entrepreneurs are forced to unload their goods and then reload each plant again. This leads to additional costs for the business.
“They have to pay for unloading and reloading, as well as for the downtime of the transport, which can last one to two days. As a result, the quality of the seedlings suffers,” the deputy noted.
Mavlyanova emphasized that there are many such cases and inquired about whom exporters should turn to for assistance.
In response, Deputy Chairman of the Border Service Marat Maralbaev stated that the problem is not limited to the border service alone.
“There are also veterinary checks. Kazakhstan has its own requirements and legislative norms. Nevertheless, we are all part of the Eurasian Economic Union. In such situations, exporters are advised to contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan. The contact information for the duty service can be found on the MFA website,” he added.
