In Osh, a police officer was detained for extortion

During anti-corruption measures conducted by the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB KR), a case of extortion of funds by a police officer from the "Sulaiman-Too" department of the Osh City Police was uncovered. The officer was identified as Senior Lieutenant M.A.Z.

According to the investigation, this police officer, using his official position, demanded from a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, A.K.D., the sum of 200 US dollars. This money was needed to make a positive decision regarding the materials of the preliminary investigation concerning the applicant himself.

As a result of operational actions, Senior Lieutenant M.A.Z. was detained at the scene when he received the specified amount. In accordance with the norms of Articles 96 and 97 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, he was placed in the detention center of the GKNB KR.
