Former mayor of Tokmak Maxat Nusuvaliev has been placed under house arrest

The Bishkek City Court overturned the previous decision in the Nusuvaliev case

The decision of the Oktyabrsky District Court regarding the punishment of former Tokmak mayor Maxat Nusuvaliev has been overturned by the Bishkek City Court. The case will be reviewed in the district court.

Nusuvaliev and other participants in the case were released from custody, and the court assigned them house arrest as a preventive measure.

For reference, Nusuvaliev was previously found guilty of corruption and sentenced to 13 years in prison with confiscation of his property.

Before taking office as mayor of Tokmak in May 2023, he headed the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure in the Bishkek City Hall.
