Azamat Kadyrov, who holds the position of vice-mayor of the capital of Kyrgyzstan, addressed the deputies of the city council with a proposal to actively use public transport. This statement was made on March 11 during a meeting of the permanent commission dedicated to issues of municipal property, urban planning, and architecture.

The agenda included the issue of introducing parking fees on the north side of the mayor's office.

Deputy Kazybek Ergeshov expressed his dissatisfaction with certain decisions of the mayor's office, claiming that the mayor's order dated August 22, 2024, No. 194, which restricts access to parking in front of the mayor's office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, may have been made beyond the authority.

He emphasized that the mayor's orders pertain only to operational and personnel matters and do not have the right to restrict the use of municipal land.

In addition, Ergeshov noted that the introduction of paid parking near the mayor's office contradicts the resolution of the Bishkek city council No. 151 dated February 19, 2020, which prohibits the organization of paid parking in areas adjacent to state and municipal institutions.

In response to the criticism, the vice-mayor urged the deputies to leave their cars and use public transport, stating that this would help reduce the burden on parking spaces in the city center.
