The Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic has denied the existence of approval for the installation of a ventilated facade on the building of the Kyrgyz State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports. This information was provided by representatives of the initiative group "BishkekSmog".
This building, constructed in 1955 according to the designs of architects Yevgeny Pisarsky and Gennady Savvateev, has the status of a monument of architecture of national significance. The ministry expressed gratitude to the residents for their activism and attention to the preservation of historical heritage.
The population of Bishkek had previously expressed concerns about the potential loss of the historical appearance of the building located at 97 Akhunbaev Street due to the ongoing work.
The Ministry of Culture emphasized that any changes to the appearance of buildings should only be carried out with the appropriate approvals.
