It is reported that the snowfall covered the famous orange sand dunes with a white layer, which is a rare phenomenon in this region.

Snow has fallen in the Sahara Desert.
The snowfall was recorded in the city of Ain Sefra. Before 2016, snow in this area was only observed in 1979, but in recent years such phenomena have become more frequent. The publication notes that the snow cover was quite thin and is expected to melt quickly.
We remind you that in December of last year, Saudi Arabia also experienced its first snowfall in the last 30 years, which affected several regions of the country.
