Details of the Death of the Deputy Head of the Bailiffs: What Happened in Chon-Aryk

New details have emerged regarding the tragic death of Kubanychbek Kapalov, who held the position of Deputy Head of the Bailiff Service at the Prosecutor General's Office of Kyrgyzstan. His body was found in a car in the village of Chon-Aryk.

According to information provided by the Bishkek City Police Department, on March 13, 2026, a call was received at the number "102" reporting that a gunshot had been heard in the cabin of a vehicle near one of the banquet halls on Kozhomberdieva Street.

The investigative operational group of the Lenin District Police Department immediately arrived at the scene. Upon inspection, the body of a man born in 1981 was discovered with a gunshot wound in a GAC brand vehicle. It was later revealed that the deceased was Kubanychbek Kapalov.

During the investigation, a smoothbore shotgun of the "Izh-18" brand, 12 gauge, 13 cartridges, one shell casing, two mobile phones (iPhone-15 and Redmi), as well as a suicide note and other evidence were found at the scene.

Preliminary findings from the forensic examination indicate the presence of gunshot wounds to the chest of the deceased. A forensic medical examination has been appointed for a more detailed study of the nature and extent of the injuries.

According to the information received, there is a possibility that Kapalov may have taken his own life due to financial difficulties.

A criminal investigation has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 128, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Currently, law enforcement agencies are continuing the investigation and clarifying all circumstances surrounding the incident.
