In the 2026–2027 academic year, Russia plans to provide 550 budget places for students of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, which is 30 percent more than in the previous year. This was announced by the university's rector, Sergey Volkov, at a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh.

Sergey Volkov noted: "We hope that the Kyrgyz side will also be able to offer a similar number of budget places, which will allow more than 1,000 students to receive free education."

It is also worth noting that the Jogorku Kenesh committee on science, education, innovative development, and information technologies, culture, sports, and youth affairs is currently discussing a draft ratification of the agreement on the construction of a new campus for KRSU. A plot of land of about 30 hectares has been allocated for construction in the Baytik rural area of the Alamudun district in the Chui region.
