At the meeting of the Education Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on March 16, Deputy Bolot Saginayev noted that the cost of education in Kyrgyzstan's universities has risen to a level that exceeds prices in Moscow.

He emphasized that there has been a sharp increase in prices over the past year and inquired whether there are mechanisms in place to control this situation.

In response, Deputy Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations Durus Isayev explained that the legislation places the responsibility for setting prices on the university administration.

According to the deputy minister, price control is carried out by the State Antimonopoly Agency, and the issue is currently under active discussion. He added that prices in state universities remain stable, while private educational institutions have significantly increased their rates. "We have a directive from the government, and we are actively working in this direction," he added.

Saginayev also expressed concerns that "our contracts exceed those in Moscow." He urged universities to set prices that correspond to the average salary in the country to avoid financial burdens on ordinary citizens.
