The Bishkek city hall reported that a major overhaul of Malikova Street in the village of Kok-Zhar is not planned. This was a response to appeals from local residents dissatisfied with the condition of the road.

According to information provided by the municipal administration of the October district, this year the main focus in the field of road construction is on the reconstruction and modernization of key streets in the city.

“The main goal of these works is to enhance road safety, improve transport accessibility, and reduce the load on the city's major highways. However, given the limited budget resources and the approved list of projects for road construction for 2026, a major overhaul of Malikova Street is not planned for this year. Nevertheless, the administration is considering the possibility of temporary measures to improve the condition of the road, including resurfacing old asphalt after the start of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads in the October district,” the official statement said.
