According to the report, streets in Bishkek were formed gradually, which is associated with the construction of new facilities and the expansion of the street network. For many years, separate sections of the same street received different names, causing confusion. Now the authorities intend to correct this.
The financial justification showed that the implementation of this project will require additional expenses, which will be covered by the local budget.
It is worth noting that earlier the Bishkek City Council had already made a decision to rename a number of streets. However, as noted by BGK deputy Kazybek Ergeshov in an interview with Kaktus.media, a more detailed analysis revealed that not all streets had been finally registered, and therefore changes were made. For example, some of them with the same name will become longer.
List of renaming streets
- Mikhail Frunze Street (Novopavlovka), Deng Xiaoping, Chuy, Shabdan Batyr Avenues - will be renamed to Chuy Avenue;
- April 7 Street, Kurmanjan Datka - will become Kurmanjan Datka Street;
- Jaiyl Batyr and Kayykov Streets, Absamat Masaliev and Aaly Tokombaev Avenues - will be renamed to Tokombaev Avenue;
- Anvarbek Chortekov and Krivonosov Streets - will be renamed to Absamat Masaliev Street;
- Leo Tolstoy, Puteprovodnaya, Sary-Ozon Streets - will be renamed to Shabdan Batyr Street;
- Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue, Manas Street - will be renamed to Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue;
- Young Guard Avenue, Mahatma Gandhi Street - will become Imanaly Aydarbekov Street;
- Selection and Muromskaya Streets - will be renamed to Mahatma Gandhi Street;
- Yulius Fuchik Street and Vasilievsky Tract - will be renamed to Manas Street;
- Jibek Jolu and Victory Avenues - will become Jibek Jolu Avenue;
- Maxim Gorky and Ankara Streets - will be renamed to Ankara Street;
- Chalagyz Imankulov and Karybek Tynalieva Streets - will be renamed to Tynaliev Street;
- Baytik Batyr, Jusup Abdrahmanov, Abdynasyr Elebesov, Central Streets - will be renamed to Jusup Abdrahmanov Street;
- Beregovaya, Okrainaya, Kok-Say, Kurmanalieva, Naberezhnaya Streets - will be renamed to Deng Xiaoping Street;
- Iskhak Razzakov (Novopavlovka) and Asipa Temirova Streets - will be renamed to Anvarbek Chortekov Street;
- Vineyard Street - will be renamed to Leo Tolstoy Street;
- Nikolai Gogol Street (Novopavlovka) - will be renamed to Chalagyz Imankulov Street;
- Lenskaya and Jubilee Streets - will be renamed to Jaiyl Batyr Street.
