A draft amendment to the document that establishes the procedure for renaming geographical objects in the capital has been put out for public discussion. In particular, it concerns the adjustment of the resolution of the Bishkek City Council, which introduces a moratorium on mass changes to street names.

According to a report prepared by the city administration, after the administrative-territorial reform and clarification of the boundaries of new territories, discrepancies were identified in the lists of streets that had previously been excluded from the moratorium. Some streets that are actually subject to exclusion were not listed in the appendices to the resolution.

In light of the above, a new draft resolution has been developed, which proposes a complete replacement of the appendices. The updated lists now contain clarified information about the streets that are part of the territory that has been annexed. In particular, the new schemes indicate the streets that are excluded from the moratorium, including sections of Chuy, Jibek Jolu, Masaliev avenues, as well as Tokombaev, Mikhail Frunze, Leo Tolstoy, Gorky streets, and others.

The city hall emphasizes that the adoption of these changes will not create social, economic, or legal risks, will not require additional budget expenditures, and will not affect entrepreneurial activities.
