The head of the Ministry of Health supported the idea of medical examinations for future spouses
Minister of Health Damir Osmonov emphasized the necessity of a medical examination before entering into marriage. He made this statement in response to a question from deputy Nurjamal Torobekova during a meeting of the parliamentary committee on labor and health issues.
Osmonov noted: "This is indeed an important topic. I insist that such a practice should be mandatory." He added that such checks would help identify diseases at early stages and take appropriate measures, which, in turn, would reduce health risks for future mothers and prevent congenital diseases.
