The vice-mayor urged not to mourn the old trees that will die if their tops are cut off.
In Bishkek, the process of cutting down trees continues, as reported by Vice-Mayor Ramiz Aliyev the day before.
The demolition work has already started on Auezov Street and will continue along Chuy Avenue.
Aliyev noted that among the trees that will be cut down, there are healthy ones; however, their number does not exceed 10 percent. He assured that new, large saplings will be planted in their place within the next two to three days.
The vice-mayor urged residents not to worry about the old trees.
"I am warning in advance to avoid dissatisfaction. The tops of these trees are in poor condition, and if we cut them, they will die. That is why we are making this decision," he added.
The official asked the city's residents to be patient for a week, after which they will be able to see the results of the work after the completion of the park's construction.
It should be noted that municipal services have long been engaged in so-called "sanitary pruning," during which the upper parts of trees are cut off.
