The project covers four countries in the region
On March 20, a press conference was held in Almaty, where a new platform aimed at engaging women in sports in Central Asia was presented. This regional initiative has been named SHE.TRI.
The main goal of the project is to unite Almaty, Tashkent, Bishkek, and Samarkand, as well as to eliminate barriers that prevent women from participating in sports and maintaining an active lifestyle.
The organizers note that despite significant successes in professional sports, such as achieving gender equality at the Paris 2024 Olympics (where 50% of participants are women), a gender gap still exists in mass sports. Women remain less likely to take the first steps towards engaging in sports, even with the growing interest in a healthy lifestyle.
The platform aims to create conditions that promote an increase in the number of women actively participating in mass sports.
