17 apartment buildings were planned to be built on the site of the cemetery
In the city of Osh, on the territory of the former Khokhlov Cemetery, about 1,300 trees were planted on March 24. This was reported by the city administration.
The event was attended by Mayor Janarbek Akaev, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Akyl Toktobaev, as well as deputies and local residents.
Akaev noted: "There was an attempt to build residential houses on this site. The construction of 17 multi-story buildings was planned, and some entrepreneurs even won the tender. However, we timely stopped this illegal initiative. Now we are landscaping this land, transforming it into a green zone. We intend to negotiate with large private companies to create a park here."
