In Kyrgyzstan, a draft law concerning amendments to the Law "On Physical Culture and Sports" has been put up for public discussion. This document aims to integrate esports into the national sports system and its further development.

The draft law proposes the creation of a legal framework for esports (electronic sports), including the organization of competitions and the training of athletes. It also provides conditions for citizens to participate in international tournaments.

According to the proposed initiative, esports will be officially recognized as a sport, which will allow for the development of school and university leagues, as well as the formation of national teams.

Furthermore, the draft law introduces rules for the participation of minors in competitions, including mandatory parental consent and adherence to age restrictions.

The current situation in esports in Kyrgyzstan is characterized by the absence of unified regulation: tournaments are organized by private companies, and there is no unified competition system or official national teams, as noted in the explanatory note.

The authors of the initiative are confident that the adoption of this law will contribute to the development of the digital economy, the creation of new jobs, and the attraction of investments.

The discussed draft law can be found on the official website of the Jogorku Kenesh.

Esports (electronic sports) refers to competitions in video games, where players or teams compete according to established rules. In several countries, it is already recognized as a sport, and international tournaments with large prize pools are held.
