In the Batken region, the construction of a new overpass on the Min-Oruk — Samarkandek highway has begun. This project aims to improve transportation infrastructure, which will reduce travel time to the Leilek district and decrease the number of conflicts at the border.

According to information from "Azattyk," the new road will be located at a height of 16 meters and will bypass the Tajik village of Chorku. Local residents had previously been forced to use long detours due to unresolved border issues. With the launch of the overpass, the distance between settlements will be reduced by 15 kilometers.

Funding for the project is being provided from the state budget. Plans for its implementation include the construction of a modern overpass more than 3 kilometers long and 40 meters wide over the course of three years. This will ensure high capacity and reliability of transportation in the region.

At the same time, Tajikistan has also begun construction of a road that will connect the Vorukh enclave with the city of Isfara, bypassing the Kyrgyz village of Ak-Sai. These steps were agreed upon during the delimitation and demarcation of borders.

It should be noted that the process of clarifying the borders between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan has been completed. In March 2025, the presidents of the two countries signed a final agreement on the state border.
