
From March 24 to 26, the international tournament "Cup of the Founders of Sambo" took place at the Luzhniki Sports Complex in Moscow, gathering over 200 of the strongest sambists from 10 countries, including Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Cyprus.
The athletes from Kyrgyzstan performed successfully in several weight categories, winning three bronze medals. Alai Sartov became a bronze medalist in the under 71-kilogram category, while Jandos Esengaziev achieved the same success in the under 79-kilogram weight class. Adil Turatbek uulu also brought home a bronze medal for the country, competing in combat sambo in the under 64-kilogram category.
This tournament was an important test for Kyrgyz wrestlers on the international stage. Their successes in matches against renowned opponents not only allowed them to showcase their abilities but also provided valuable experience ahead of the upcoming major competitions in the season. The federation notes that such achievements indicate a high level of training among Kyrgyz sambists.
