He explained this decision by stating that after the death of his father, the renowned coach Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, his further career lost its meaning, and he wishes to spend more time with his family.
The meeting between Nurmagomedov and Durov took place in October when Durov attended UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi, where he watched the fight of Khabib's cousin, Umar Nurmagomedov.
