The founder of the messaging app Telegram, Pavel Durov, has managed to lift the restriction that prevented him from leaving France. This was reported by Meduza, citing the news agency Bloomberg.

The decision, made on November 10, frees Durov from the obligation to regularly check in at the police station and allows him to leave the country freely.

Durov was detained in France in August 2024 when he was charged with failing to provide information requested by authorities and money laundering.

Previously, he had been banned from leaving without the consent of law enforcement. However, he received permission to travel to Dubai due to his UAE citizenship, while his requests to travel to the USA and Norway were denied by the Paris prosecutor's office.
